Hi from IH HQ! I’ve had an unexpectedly big week - with less than 24 hours notice, I found myself opening the first boygenius show in five years in Pomona, CA. Which is certainly the catharsis for this week’s affable ramble about when-duty-calls. Other updates include: heading to a beautiful studio in Washington to make a record with legendary songbrain/podcastress supreme, Eliza McLamb, tracking drums for new IH (!!!!), hiking with friends, and absorbing the springtime sunshine before it slips back into overcast or launches forward into hellish, meltacious, LA summer sun. The resulting 24 hours were spent figuring out how to pull off a last minute duo set with my guitarist Sapphire that’s as compelling as our full band set. It was complete chaos, but when your pals put up the Bat Signal, it’s time to jump into action.
