It has been one HELL of a Q1, people. I’m writing to you now from SeaTac airport, on a layover between LA and Fairbanks, Alaska. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I’VE EVER BEEN TO ALASKA!!! I was given the distinct opportunity to play a few solo shows for Parlor in the Round by way of my dear friend Emily Anderson and simply could NOT refuse! So for those reading from the Last Frontier, come check us out starting tonight!
Spring is a time of awakening - it seems like everyone around me is reassessing, shaking off the dust, wriggling around inside their skin and tapping their feet and feeling their bones vibrate with unmanageable amounts of mischief (last one just me?)… Every weekend that I’ve been home I group text (see also: bully) some friends to come sit outside with me in a meadow or park. Sunshine is crucial to my mental health. I CANNOT be bothered with being trapped indoors when it’s warm in the sun and breezy in the shade… this puppy needs a walk!
We are not quite mid-year and yet, the months fall swiftly away from the calendar. So it makes sense to notice some shuffling, some prioritizing if you will. I’ve got no advice for you here. My charge though is to DIG DEEP & BE FLEXIBLE as we approach the meat of Q2, you may be surprised at what you’ll find… I’m hoping I will be! A few updates for you…
Sarah in the stu:
-Just wrapped up all the tracking for
LP2 this month. This was a massive undertaking of heart-stopping songs from Eliza that I can’t wait to share. We spent time at Drop of Sun in Asheville, NC which quickly became one of my favorite live rooms to record, period. I’ve not spent much time in North Carolina until this month, and I deeply enjoyed the nature, the community, and that easy southern way of moving through the world. Time to dive into the mix!IH in the world:
-We played NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and at last the video is here to enjoy! A true dream come true. I tried to call the president a f*cking Nazi but after a quick chat with NPR legal, we found a middle ground that didn’t leave anyone’s ass on the line… they did let me fire confetti cannons though :)
-New single “Wreck My Life” is OUT TODAY featuring Stefan from
/ !!! I pitched this to Stef as “‘Baby It’s Cold Outside’ but not perv-y or Christmas” and thank goodness he was game because I think it turned out WAY better than that as a result of his iconic vocals. This and “777” will both be on my upcoming EP, Nickel on the Fountain Floor (out May 30) - a collection of songs that didn’t quite fit on POWER but obviously still rip. The EP cover is made up of many photos I took of the Glenarm Power Plant water fountain in Pasadena, assembled in collage & inspired by David Hockney.-SPEAKING OF PUP - EU/UK tour supporting PUP begins in a little over two weeks! Tickets are flying, and I’m so pumped to see the guys, meet the opening band Goo, and celebrate both Zach’s birthday and my birthday abroad this May.
-And last on the docket, we are hitting a summer headline run supported by none other than Georgia Maq and allie, two humans who I adore for their talent, brilliant minds, and beautiful hearts. Tickets go on sale on Friday, all dates listed below!
I think that just about covers it. Whew! Hope to see you at a show real soon and in the meantiiiiiiiime drop a comment and let me know what you’re listening to. I personally have been running back the new HAIM single on repeat and can’t get enough of Panda Bear’s latest :)
shred on,
Sarah

Yay see you in Winter Park!
So stoked to see you at Ballard seafood fest! Recently I’ve been listening to the new blondshell and Julien baker and Torres singles, and the albums one of us is the killer and ire works by the Dillinger escape plan (have loved them for a while now but I’ve got into a big punk/hardcore phase so I’ve jumped back into them due to them being such a innovative mathcore band). Almost forgot chocking victim has been on repeat recently as well I love ska punk so much and they do it way better then most.
